NCRE and energy vulnerability: The growing adoption of NCRE implies not only questioning the political consequences associated to generation processes, but it also redefines the new equity and justice challenges related to energy access, generation and consumption. This thematic focus seeks to address these challenges from an analysis of new forms of poverty and energy vulnerability emergence in southern Chile.
Energy transitions and governance: NCREs, territories and ruralities. This thematic focus means to reflect about the new controversies and repertoires of political action and negotiation among communities, companies and government at all levels, which are associated with the installation of NCRE projects in rural areas.
Experiments in participation, indigenous peoples and new political ecologies for the sustainable transition: The energy transition requires recognizing new ways of conceiving and doing politics when facing processes of environmental transformation. This thematic focus intends to study political projects where indigenous communities redraw the energy and nature actors’ parameters; therefore, they open spaces for experimental forms of political participation enlightening the design of more democratic and sustainable participatory spaces for the transition.
